Ariadna Barbe-Villa is a double bassist born in Matanzas, Cuba. She graduated from the National School of Arts (ENA) located in Havana in 1994. While in Cuba, Ariadna participated in numerous festivals as well as the prestigious Amadeo Roldàn National Music Competition, receiving the First Prize and First Honorable Mention for excellence in interpretation of Cuban Music.
In 1995 Ariadna came to the United States where she continued her studies. She received a scholarship to study with the prominent double bassist Lucas Drew at the University of Miami. In 2001 she graduated from the University of Miami with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Performance. In 2008, Ariadna graduated from Barry University with a Master's Degree in Science with a major in Education.
Ariadna has collaborated in live performances with outstanding artists such as Andrea Bocelli, Plàcido Domingo, Bobby McFerrin, Il Volo, Ricky Martin, Marc Anthony, Enrique Iglesias, Blood, Sweat & Tears, Pepe Romero, Robert McDuffie, Itzhak Perlman, Gil Shaham, Leo Brouwer and many more. She has also studied with Franco Petracchi, Harold Robinson, John Patitucci, Milton Masciadri, Carlos del Puerto Sr., Horacio Cabarcos, and Nicky Orta, during private sessions. In 2011 Ariadna toured all over Germany with the American Sinfonietta featuring the talented and famous guitarrist, Pepe Romero.
Ariadna is a member of the Southwest Florida Symphony, The Naples Philharmonic, Gulfshore Opera, Classic Chamber Concerts, Tango S.V.P., The Bach Ensemble, and The Ensemble Soirée. She has also performed with the Florida Philharmonic Orchestra, Miami City Ballet, American Sinfonietta, Miami Orchestra, Symphony of the Americas, Key West Pops, and the Florida Keys Chamber Orchestra. She is also the founder and music director of the Miami Soul Strings, Tango S.V.P, and Arpeggio Fine Arts Studio.
